Special Project for 2018 - MADE/Slow

Disposability has become the norm, with poor quality products in textiles, ceramics, wood and other materials filling our stores and our homes. Many believe that the world needs to take stock of what we buy and for how long we should own it.

In 2018, Showcase brings a special presentation of quality design from Ireland called “MADE/Slow”, featuring products to adorn the body, dress the home and warm the soul. All designed and made in Ireland by small producers, located in urban and rural Ireland, providing sustainable employment with innovative design and traditional crafts.

These designers and craftspeople live and work in some of Ireland’s most beautiful locations. They marry inspiration from their surroundings with local materials and innovative design to make beautiful objects to cherish, not cast aside.

Participating in MADE/Slow are factories such as: Fisherman out of Ireland, Ireland’s Eye, Avoca; Emblem Weavers, Cushendale, Mourne Textiles, Magee, Wild Cocoon, Diem Pottery, J Hills Standard  and many more.

The fashion and textiles products will be introduced at a vibrant and innovative presentation during the show, designed to excite and inspire the visiting buyers.
The homeware products will be displayed in innovative new shelving units designed and made in Ireland by exhibition designer Steven McNamara.
